Description

Bathtime just isn't complete without our classic, latex rubber duck. Made out of all-natural latex rubber, which can be cleaned by gently by wiping with a sponge or cloth using warm water and a small amount of mild soap. An environment-friendly alternative to soap is to use a solution of 1 part white vinegar to 3 parts water, which also prevents soap or detergent residues on the toys. If you dislike the smell of vinegar you can substitute strained lemon juice. Keep your Rubber Duck out of direct sunlight to avoid having it dry out and become brittle over time. Many bath toys are made with Phthalates, a class of chemicals that are used to plasticize toys. These chemicals have been linked to cancer, hormone disruption, kidney and liver damage and asthma. Bisphenol-A (BPA), another hormone-disrupting chemical is also found in plastic toys. Because they remain freely mobile in plastic, phthalates are ingestible and leachable when infantren squeeze and gnaw on them. This has led some experts to recommend using no vinyl at all in the bath. Rubber Ducks are a great alternative to plastic bath toys. Rubber Duck is designed for kids ages 3+ years old. The classic natural rubber duck is the perfect playtime toy for young infantren and adults alike! However, due to small parts that could pose a choking hazard, it is NOT recommended for infantren under the age of 3.

Customer reviews for 'Original Rubber Duck/ducky Natural Latex No Phthalates'

My dog loves this duck!

I have an 8 year old cocker spaniel who loves rubber ducks. We used to buy him the dog toy ones, but he would try to eat the plastic. Then I found this duck, which I've now realized is a baby toy! Einstein is on his 4th duckie, so they last about 2 years with a dog chewing on them :)

The cuteness cannot be overstated

My daughter LOVED this duck as an infant, and still has affection for it now as a toddler...we keep it near the tub and she is sure to give it hugs and kisses when she sees it. We had many toys for her as infant- I was surprised that this duck was her toy of preference.
The duck is adorable- don't think twice about whether your infant will like it. I have given it to countless friends as gifts and all had positive experiences.

The Amazing Original Duck from Rich Frog

This little duck has become so popular, it makes my head spin. We've been selling it in our shop for a couple of years and never put a lot of promotion on the fact that it's a healthier, rubber duck choice-especially for small infantren. When you've got hundreds of vinyl and plastic ducks in your store, you're not trying to draw attention to phthalates and BPA issues, without alienating most of your inventory. Our health conscious customers have encouraged us to put it out front and center. This duck is made of natural latex rubber, as opposed to vinyl or plastic. It's soft and maleable and babies seem to just love it. It's just got that great baby affinity that is probably over our adult heads. It's definitely more expensive than your typical little $.99 duck. We didn't even bother adding it to our website until this past spring, because with shipping it costs about $10 to order and we thought, no one will want to pay $10 for a little duck. When purchased in multiples, the shipping evens out considerably-but not everyone wants to buy more than 1. We were wrong! No joke, we've had to quadruple our inventory, because it's been such a hit. Our suggestion: buy a couple for those other moms that you know would just love it and save on the shipping. We offer free shipping when you buy through the Rubber Ducky storefront and spend at least $25 on Rich Frog products, that equals 4 ducks.
