Great for Independent Play
This was given as a gift to our 7 mo old daughter. We like it since she can "read" to herself using this book. THe voice reads aloud to the infant as she turns the pages and manipulates the page features. It has captivating sounds and lights. I wouldn't suggest is take the place of parents reading to their infantren, but it's good to occupy infantren when mom or dad can't be right there with them at the moment.

great toy, too much money
I can't believe this is selling for $40 online. This same toy is no more than 19.99 at target. Wonderful book, but if you buy it from Amazon you are not a very good shopper.

Better design than the Fisher Price counter part
Fisher Price also has a book like this but THIS books pages are high gloss stickers that are perfect and easy to wipe off. The Fisher Price one has cardstock pages glued to their hard plastic "pages" so not nearly as baby friendly!
My DD has loved this book for over a year now. I'd buy again and also in different stories.
Check walmart.com for pricing because it's WAY less than offered on here.
