Not Worth The Effort To Install If It Were Free
It doesn't cost much, but then it doesn't do much. You can't look up birds based on characteristics. When you try to use the Advanced Features, you're told you need to buy another piece of software.
Basically, it functions exactly like what it claims to be, i.e., a reference book, only not as useful as a book, which you can at least thumb through at random and make serendipitous discovieries.
If you know what bird or species you're looking for, you can find its picture, song, distribution, etc. But you can't identify a bird based on its characteristics. For that, I find The Cornell Lab of Ornithology's "Guide to Birds of North America [CD]":

is far better suited.
Also, the background screen is a fluorescent cyan that I find garish, and it apparently can't be changed.
I don't think the company exists any longer, which means the Advanced Features aren't available. You're actually better off buying a book than this software.
