Description

The First Years Carry-Me-Near 5-in-1 Sleep System is a portable sleeper, bassinet, bedside sleeper, play seat and changing table all in one convenient product! The three sleep modes allow you to keep your sleeping baby close to you wherever you go. Thanks to the ergonomically designed handle, you can confidently carry your sleeping baby from room to room in the Portable Sleeper. Built directly into the handle are battery-operated gentle vibrations, five peaceful audio selections and a nightlight. You can also put your baby down in the full-sized Bassinet that features a sturdy base that you can rock back and forth or lock into place. For added convenience, you can easily convert the Bassinet into a Bedside Sleeper that securely attaches to the adult bed, allowing you to feed and comfort your baby without having to get out of bed. When you need to change your baby's diaper in the middle of the night, the easy-to-clean, vinyl covered changing table offers a separate surface from the sleep area. And when you just want a secure, comfortable place for your young baby to play, the Portable Sleeper becomes a Play Seat complete with fun plush characters that dangle from the canopy.

Loved this product

We bought this for our third infant and I love the versatility and options. Everything was on the handle and portable - not on the base like many bassinets or portable cribs with bassinet. Other friends have borrowed it as well and loved it. I recommend it to many deciding between co-sleepers, bassinets.

Portable, Convenient, and Versatile

This item has been so useful. When we moved cross country the baby had his own familiar bed every night. It is compact. We learned after we got it that it folds up so it becomes the size of the handle. We even took it camping with us long after he out grew the weight limit since it just sat on the floor of the tent. The best part is that the music, vibrations, and a nightlight are in the handle so no extra unit to mess with. We did buy a pad to put in it as the padding was too thin. We were able to find a firm changing table pad that fit very snuggly so it was still safe but also not like sleeping on cardboard. It still folded pretty well with the extra pad. This ranks high on my list of must haves.

Not Great

We bought this bassinet after the one we had was recalled! I did extra research to make sure this one was safe. Well, it may be safe but it's certainly not comfortable for parent or baby. The metal bars on the sides of the bassinet (the legs for when the bassinet is portable) are not padded so the baby can hit them and hurt themself when they are kicking or moving around; the "seat belt" is not removeable and is placed where baby sleeps. If you're not belting them in for their sleep then they are sleeping on top of the cumbersome belt - very uncomfortable!; The sleeping pad is too soft and bends in the middle - very uncomfortable; The bassinet is too high for our bed - and we have a very tall bed. Although the legs are adjustable they don't adjust enough; The carry arm is difficult to release (I'd be frustrated if I was trying to adjust this at night); The sleeping area is very small (much smaller than the other bassinet we had); The bassinet sits inside the stand as opposed to attaching to it. I didn't think that would be a problem (I read another person's review about that) until I put it together and I see that it's not as "snug" as it should be for safety's sake; and, finally, I believe, now that I see it, that there is NO REASON for there to be a changing pad on this bassinet. It just makes the whole contraption bulky, uncomfortable, and unsafe! A bassinet should be for sleeping only.
I will be dismantling this bassinet and returing it immediately!
