Useless
Mine will give a range of 97-101 on the same person! I am a nurse, and know how to use this correctly. It is USELESS!

Decent approximation of real temperature
The accuracy of this appeares to depend a lot on where you aim it in the ear. It's hard to get multiple consistent readings.
However, we conducted an experiment where we simultaneously took an adult's temperature at: the mouth, with a digital thermometer; the armpit, with a similar digital thermometer; and the ear, with this gizmo. The ear reading seemed most accurate (and was the highest, at 97.9). The adult, at the time, was at a normal indoor resting temperature.
On the plus side, this thing doesn't need custom ear-covers that other manufacturers use as a way to make the real money (sell the blades, not the razors!). However, on the down side, realize that the battery in this device is not one that you can simply replace with a generic -- you have to buy a replacement from the manufacturer. So they'll get you one way or the other.
The ergonomics and looks on this can't be beat. It's easy to use, lightweight, and stylish. We just have no idea how accurate it is.
