Great gift for preemie parents
Whether breastfeeding or not, this is a great gift for mothers who have a preemie or infant in NICU - I used it with our son to give his preemie eyes a break from the bright lights while holding him. It was also very helpful for breastfeeding in a busy hospital environment. On the downside, it does get hot under the cover for both the baby and the mother, so be warned !

does what it's supposed to...
It's just difficult to manouever with it on. I like the idea of it, but in all honesty it is hard to drape it just right, hold the baby, undo the bra and fiddle with the shirt, get the baby under the fabric and latched on... By then he was screaming. I'd have been less obvious if I'd just latched him quickly before he drew more attention to us. Practice nursing discreetly in front of a mirror, and you'll be able to do it in public without anyone noticing. But in the mean time, it was nice to have the security of knowing that I could be covered up.

Nice and simple
This works great -- it's basically a very large apron that covers baby, with a piece of boning at the top to hold it away so you can see baby. It has a little corner of terry cloth that is also a pocket, but I can't say I've really been using that part. The only concern I have is the fabric is a bit heavy, since it's a double layer, it will probably be too warm in the summer. I might cut away one of the layers to make it more lightweight for the summer. The feature to hold it away so you can see the baby is just right, it also lets in some air for baby which is nice. It rolls up very compactly so I can fit it in my diaper bag. I tried using just blankets to cover myself, but couldn't keep them on or positioned properly. This makes it easy, which lets me breastfeed in public or when we have company at the house without having to sequester myself. Really like it!
