A great father / daugther project
I know some folks have said K'NEX is too hard for kids to put together, but IMO it is a project for a parent and a infant. My husband and eight year old daugther have put two of these together working as a team and it was so much fun. My daughter has to use critical thinking skills and learns mechanical engineering techniques. This Ferris wheel was a fun project and is together and on display on my daughter's dresser. Her grandmother saw it and was so impressed. I think these types of projects offer quality time for parents / infantren and really challenge their minds. We have three more that the team will be working on in the near future.

PRETTY COOL TOY, DIFFICULT FOR SMALL KIDS TO BUILD
My son received the K'Nex Ferris wheel for Christmas and he really likes it. However this would very very difficult for a younger infant to build. The kit contains contains 478 pieces and takes at least an hour to build. Once completed it stands 1 1/2 foot tall. If moves in forward or reverse and little lego men can snap into the seats to take a ride. There are also several amusement park ride sets similar to this set. Fun...
We got this for the kids for Christmas & we really like it. Recommended age is 7 & up but my daughter is 7 1/2 & it was still too difficult for her to put together. Some of the pieces were a bit hard to snap together for infantren. I didn't mind because I enjoy putting stuff together. The kids really enjoy putting their little Lego men in it & watching them go for a ride.
The only negative things I have to say are that there are no extra pieces so if you lose just 1 piece or it breaks (some of the pieces really bend to make the outer circle) then it's going to mess up the whole Ferris Wheel. I think it would also be great if you could build more than just one thing. It doesn't have to be anything big but it would be nice to be able to take the Ferris Wheel apart & make something else with the pieces that you have in this set.
Overall though we really enjoy this set & would recommend it if you were to get it at a good price.
