EXCELLENT teether BPA free, non toxic, gentle on gums yet tough
We've literally tried dozens of teethers since our son started teething at two months. He has incredibly sensitive, raw gums (he can fall down, bang his head, and be fine, but with teething, he's miserable). We've tried homeopathic remedies like Hyland's liquid and quick dissolving tablets (with little relief), nighttime Orajel, and tons of teethers from teething blankets, to animals, to cold (even frozen) washcloths, to refrigerated teethers from every manufacturer we could find - even organic. Unfortunately, teething on soft stuffed teething animals doesn't appeal to him.
The newborn refrigerated teethers help the most because they are cool and the softest on raw gums, but as soon as the first tooth broke through, we had to discontinue using them because of the bursting risk. The next level of teethers are necessarily harder; made out of thicker material, but they're too harsh on puffy, raw gums. Until we found Natursutten! What a difference!!! You can feel the difference in your hand by squeezing them. They're not as thin as the newborn teethers, so they won't break with baby teeth, yet they're not hard like most teethers, so they're much gentler on red, puffy, sore gums that need soothing and gentle easing to let teeth come through. Even refrigerated, they retain they're gentleness. They are an amazing find for us! Another Plus: both the yellow apple and blue fish have an open design and enable a way to secure them to a stroller or car seat bar so your infant can access the teether when he/she needs it and won't lose it!! Check out the "Baby Buddy Secure a Toy" that come in lots of colors. Wonderful for pacifiers, teethers, and toys!
We're also trying the Learning Curve Vibrating Star teether with success, but it doesn't go in the fridge so when pain is at its highest, Natursutten seems to be the way to go. Hope this helps as much as it helped our little one!

finally- a safe teether
I have been searching everywhere for a safe teether for baby! I am trying to avoid buying "made in China" items and also am looking for BPA free toys/feeders/etc. This is EXACTLY what I wanted. It is made in GERMANY and has to meet at least the European (which is more strict than USA) safety requirements. I am comfortable with allowing baby to mouth this toy to soothe the pain from teething, and it is so good that I can stick it in the refrigerator for a nice cooling sensation on baby's gums. DO NOT FREEZE IT. I think the blue fish style is the cutest rather than the yellow apple, but I have both and they are both wonderful. SO MUCH BETTER than what I have been able to find in the department and discount stores around here.
